  • ASIANA
    • For Asiana it’s both about the skill of tying them and the aesthetic of the shape of the strappado that appeal so much to her.
  • DOOR
    • She just love strappado’s. Door just loves how they make her feel! With this workshop we want to share this love with you.

Content Saturday

  • Strappado’s can be tied in many different ways, depending on the purpose.
  • From quick & dirty *hojoojutsu* style to elaborate, well-constructed ones that are suitable for suspension.
  • We will teach not only several different strappado’s, but also show how to tie them on different body types and share some tips and tricks to make them easier to tie.
  • A well-constructed strappado is not a beginner’s tie.
  • This day is a floorwork one.
  • We will not do any suspension.
  • The focus is mostly on technique and safety for both the rope top and model, but we’ll also talk about aesthetics and applications.
  • We will demo some of those.

Content Sunday

  • This day we’ll take it one notch up, adding the dimension of semi-suspension.
  • Adding suspension lines to any floor tie often makes it more interesting and challenging.
  • Doing this to the already challenging position of strappado even more so.
  • We love these kinds of ties as they offer opportunities for play, suffering & beautiful views.
  • The possibilities are endless.
  • You will be offered different ways of attaching suspension lines to create more intense experiences while at the same time doing it as safely as possible.

Level

  • This workshop will be challenging for both, especially for the model, as the positions are not easy to maintain.
  • The level is intermediate+/advanced for rope tops and models.

General requirements

  • The rope top and model need to be experienced and have tied together recently, preferably on a regular basis.
  • You have good communication skills.

Rope top requirements

  • You’re familiar with several ties, amongst which a chest harness with arms in the back, and are able to tie them in a technically sound way.
  • You have fluid rope handling and finger skills.
  • You have mastered the basic suspension skills i.e. knowing how to attach a suspension line safely to the harness, and tie off the suspension line to a suspension point, both single point and bamboo.

Model requirements

  • You are able to distinguish between the feeling of nerve impingement and blood flow restriction.
  • You have experience staying in a static position for quite some time.
  • It is within your risk profile to accept longer periods of time with blood flow restriction (due to the nature of the strappado).
  • You have experience with being tied in different positions and there is at least one chest harness with arms in the back that you feel comfortable in.
  • You are able to feel and communicate your limits, both physical and mental.

What to bring

A full set of ropes of 7-8 m length, and preferably a few shorter and thinner diameter ones
Safety scissors
Tenugui*
An open and curious mind
Suspension gear (carabiners, ring, slinges)

    • Kinbaku is her passion and she loves sharing her knowledge.
  • Door
    • She is a kinbaku model and a connoisseur of pain, especially emotional.
