Sensual Shibari
Sensual shibari is a way of connecting, communicating and emoting. It is a reasonably simple technique of knotting but it requires the right intentions of the rigger to communicate with the model.
Both the rigger and the model should be able to communicate well through actions, expressions, sound, movements, etc.
In a sensual shibari session, like Karada Ki and Tantra shibari, you can clear your head and immerse yourself in emotions, feelings, intimacy and sensuality. Get out of your comfort zone and open yourself up to new experiences. The connection between the rigger and the model is intimate and intense.
Strong communication with your body, mind, rope and other elements bring you into a kind of subspace, an ecstasy that you experience together in the session.
Karada Ki Shibari
“KARADA-KI” is a sensual shibari style that balances your body and your energy and enhances communication and connection between two people. Energy exchange through interaction and specific intentional actions is enhanced to create highly sensual and intense sessions.
In Karada Ki, we certainly use not only rope but also all kinds of energies coming from our body, from our mind, from our inner energy, from sounds, from body handling, touches and so much more.
Very specific are the intentional actions and the way of applying the rope. If done properly, a sensual shibari session can produce a lot of emotion and energy.
KARADA-KI has a young, down-to-earth and dynamic flow in which touch, feeling and sensuality play a major role. Enrapture each other and experience the world of intense feelings and communication through rope, mind and actions.
KARADA-KI combines shibari (based among others on the sensual style of Yukimura, Osada-Ryû, Harukumo-Juku, Aibunawa, Nawashi and Kinbaku ) and Western neo-tantra.
Tantra shibari
Tantra shibari runs partly parallel to Sensual shibari and Karada Ki. It involves a powerful and intimate energy exchange.
Practising tantra shibari can be a way of exploring one’s own limits and limitations, as well as developing self-awareness, self-acceptance and personal power.
Breathing exercises, connection with each other, surrender, sensations and deepening with yourself.
Surrender is an important aspect of tantra shibari. This can mean that the participant surrenders to the person roping, or that you, surrender to your own emotions and feelings. Trusting and connecting, being able to give yourself and making a deep connection with yourself and others.
Trust and communication are needed to create a deep emotional connection.
The focus and attention required in tantra shibari can help cultivate attentiveness and awareness in the here and now.
Kinbaku
Kinbaku (緊縛) means “tight binding”, while Kinbaku-bi (緊縛美) literally means “the beauty of tight binding”. Kinbaku is a Japanese style of bondage or BDSM which involves tying a person up using simple yet visually intricate patterns.
Kinbaku is based on fairly specific rope patterns, many of them derived from Hojojutsu ties though significantly modified to make them safer for bondage use. Many Hojojutsu ties were deliberately designed to cause harm to a prisoner and are therefore not suitable for erotic bondage. Of particular importance are the Ushiro Takatekote (a type of box tie which surrounds the chest and arms), which forms the basis of many Kinbaku ties.
Shibari and Kinbaku focuses on the aesthetics and display of the body. As a result, and due to the manipulation of body parts using rope to achieve this it is common, though not always required, for models or participants to be fully naked and the art form regularly incorporates aspects of BDSM such as erotic humiliation. It may be used for restraint as well as solely being a visual.
Semenawa
Semenawa is an intense form of shibari. It is usually seen as sadistic, painful, intense and heavy.
Through a deep connection between model and rigger and cunsensual torture and suffering, you enter into a world of contradictory redemption.
The surrender of both model and rigger and the emotional return of both fuel the actions to the next level.
The way of rigging, the right intentions, the way you place the rope and how you shape, transform and limit the body through rope, tension, torsions and body handling zijn typisch voor Semenawa.
Today the ebi-tie is used as part of BDSM play and can be considered a form of Semenawa, rope torture.

If you would like to be tied in peace, a private session is ideal. Before the session, there is an intake conversation to get to know each other and to see together what you would like to learn, feel or experience in shibari. The session is 100% adapted to your level and your physical abilities.
Each session is preceded by a clear exploratory conversation between the giver and receiver in which we discuss wishes, limits, no go’s and options.

Bondage is a part of bdsm. Shibari, then, is more a speciality of bondage and has a sometimes separate community that is not always fully linked to bdsm. But most people who practice shibari are also Kink and do bdsm in all its different forms.
