Evening Shibari WORKSHOP

TK 3rd and 4th rope – NAKA STYLE

Understanding all the subtleties and nuances of TK is a goal that will accompany
you throughout your rope journey.
In Naka style we like to add to our TK 3rd or even 4th ropes. They can have several interests:

– Technical : to make the TK stronger and suitable for certain type of bondages or transitions.
– Communication : Extra ropes are often appropriate to communicate and add constraint.
– Aesthetic : They change what the TK looks like and charge the bondage.

– During this course we will deepen our knowledge of the requirements of this harness and also of the 3rd and 4th ropes.
– We will learn several ways to build 3rd and 4th ropes and try to improvise following given instructions.

Docvale :

Rigger and owner of Atelier Simonet, Paris

I started to perform and teach shibari in France and internationally in 2012. The psychological aspect of kinbaku being at the center of my practice, when I discovered Naka Akira’s semenawa I decided to dedicate myself to it.

Thanks to an assiduous practice with my partners, I managed to find a way towards my own style. The challenge for me is ambitious: to reclaim the values and aesthetics of my predecessors while bringing my own singularities.

To synthetize my vision of kinbaku I would highlight these following issues and desires: “Revisiting the roots of kinbaku, always searching to deepen the intimate and emotional dimension, while integrating and developing more contemporary techniques on security and anatomy.”

Today my kinbaku is constantly evolving but always centered on my desire to better perceive and understand others. Since 2018, I am in charge of Atelier Simonet in Paris, recognized in 2019 as an official Naka style studio by Naka Akira.

Bänana :

Rigger, Docvale’s model and assistant, & owner of Atelier Simonet, Paris
For about ten years I had a funny habit of tying my partners with anything I could get my hands on. I started taking shibari classes in 2017 with teachers of different styles, including May Dosem. I quickly realized that what would drive me in the ropes would be the same as in life: what is raw, without filter and without cheating.

Actress and director, I have always been fascinated by the expression of emotions and shibari has opened up other paths for me to explore.

I have followed Docvale’s teaching since November 2018, when we also started tying together. It was immediately obvious that his approach to kinbaku corresponded to what I wanted to learn and live.
